Features a biographical sketch of Sophie Tucker, a U.S. singer and an immigrant from Russia in the early 1900s. Depicts her career as an entertainer at Hartford, Conn., her journey to New York to become a successful professional entertainer, and her involvement in charity to raise four million dollars for servicemen during World War I. Also discusses President Andrew Jackson"s opposition to South Carolina"s nullification of a federal tariff that favored Northern manufacturing over Southern agriculture.
